Registration for the 2023-24 School Year

Registration in eLearning courses is available to students who meet the eligibility requirements for publicly funded secondary education in Ontario, in accordance with Ministry of Education eLearning policies. Please click on the appropriate tab below for information about how to register for AMDEC courses.

Registration for all AMDEC courses is done through your Guidance Counsellor at your enroling school. Guidance Counsellors can find more information by clicking on the appropriate link under the 'For Guidance Counsellors' heading and 'Register a Student' tab below.

All AMDEC courses for the 2023-24 school year are semestered, following the same format as secondary courses in AMDSB face-to-face classes. Refer to the Courses tab for additional information.

2023-24 registration is now OPEN.

If you are a student in the Avon Maitland District School Board, please go to the Student Services Department at your school to discuss the eLearning options available to you. If you are eligible to register, the Student Services personnel will complete an eLearning registration for you using PRISM.
If you are a student at a publicly funded Ontario school outside of the Avon Maitland District School Board, please go to the Student Services Department at your school to discuss the eLearning options available to you. If you are eligible to register, the Student Services personnel will complete an eLearning registration for you using PRISM.
AMDEC does not register students directly. Please contact your local publicly funded Ontario secondary school to discuss registering at that school for the purposes of taking eLearning courses.

The AMDEC Registration deadlines, including submission of all required registration documentation, are as follows:

  • Semester 1 - Approximately 2 weeks after the start of the semester.
  • Semester 2 - Approximately 2 weeks after the start of the semester.
All timetable changes are done through the Guidance Counsellor at the student's enrolling school. Guidance Counsellors at the student's school use PRISM to add or remove a course from a student's timetable.

If you are having trouble registering a student, removing a student from a course, retrieving marks or locating the mident (BSID) in PRISM, click this link to view some help documents located under the SCHOOL USER section.
