Registration in eLearning courses is available to students who meet the eligibility requirements for publicly funded secondary education in Ontario, in accordance with Ministry of Education eLearning policies. Please click on the appropriate tab below for information about how to register for AMDEC courses.
Registration for all AMDEC courses is done through your Guidance Counsellor at your enroling school. Guidance Counsellors can find more information by clicking on the appropriate link under the 'For Guidance Counsellors' heading and 'Register a Student' tab below.
All AMDEC courses for the 2022-23 school year are semestered, following the same format as secondary courses in AMDSB face-to-face classes. Refer to the Courses tab for additional information.
2022-23 registration is now OPEN.
I am an AMDSB student
I am a student at an Ontario publicly-funded secondary school
I am a student at an inspected Ontario private school
If you are a student at an inspected Ontario private school and are eligible for publicly funded education in Ontario, please go to the Student Services Department at your school to discuss the eLearning options available to you. If you are eligible to register, the Student Services personnel will complete an eLearning registration for you using PRISM.
Before registering a student in courses with AMDEC, private schools must sign a Private School Registration Agreement. The document linked below outlines for students and parents the terms that the private school agrees to meet when they sign the agreement.
Registration in AMDEC courses from a private school student will only be reviewed after the following documents have been submitted to the AMDEC Office:
- Proof of Ontario residency (e.g. utility bill, tax bill, rental/lease agreement, etc.)
- A current, signed transcript, issued by the enrolling private school
- Student IEP, as applicable
- And, for students born outside of Canada:
- completed and signed AMDSB 302E Form (download below), along with a document to confirm student eligibility to attend an Ontario school without fees

If you are a guidance counsellor at an Ontario publicly-funded school, your board must be a member of the Ontario eLearning Consortium (OeLC) to register students for AMDEC courses.
If you are a guidance counsellor at an inspected, Ontario private school that has previously registered students with AMDEC using PRISM, please send an email to the AMDEC eRegistrar at [email protected] indicating your intention to register students in AMDEC courses for the new school year. An updated Private School Registration Agreement must be signed by your school Administration and submitted to AMDEC each year before registrations will be accepted.
If you are a guidance counsellor at an inspected, Ontario private school that has not previously registered students using PRISM, please send an email to the AMDEC eRegistrar at [email protected] to begin the process of accessing PRISM to register your students in AMDEC courses.
